Everyone knows the classic elegance and Vieux Québec location of Château Frontenac, however, the urban chic Château Bonne Entente is an equally elegant, if not more modern experience.
Maybe because it’s not right in Vieux Québec, Château Bonne Entente (translation Good Will Hotel), goes out of it’s way to offer more bang for the buck. For example, the Urbania Suites offer suites with state-of-the-art High-Def flatscreen TVs in the rooms and open concept bathrooms with Ultra Bain Whirlpool Baths and sauna showers. They even offer a private lounge with private cocktail hour and champagne & chocolates. All for about half of what you would pay in a bigger city like New York or Toronto.
My favorite memory au château was the ThermoMasseur Bath I took in my room. I could completely submerge myself in this bathtub, which I took full advantage of, playing with the various speeds and lights as part of the wonderful massage. I then dried off with a quick step in the sauna and was off for a gourmet dinner in theMonte Cristo Lounge.
Seems like business travelers are enjoying Château Bonne Entente so much they’re returning with their families to spend a luxury weekend getaway at the hotel. Between several award-winning restaurants, a renowned spa in the hotel and a daily shuttle to Vieux Québec, there’s no need to go anywhere else. I plan to come back in the summer to enjoy the carefully maintained gardens and another glorious soak!
