For this year’s Easter Vacation, why not try something different and head up north to Nova Scotia? At the White Point Beach Resort, a family- and pet-friendly resort, they offer Easter activities for kids, including Easter egg hunts, Easter crafts and a family Easter photo. This year, with their unseasonably warm weather, there may even be dips in the pool!
The biggest hit with the kids, however, is the image of bunnies hopping around the resort. These bunnies mysteriously appeared many years ago, so the resort managers decided to make them a permanent fixture at the resort. Free bags of bunny food are always available at the front desk, and kids spend endless hours chasing them, feeding them and taking pictures of them. One family even chose White Point Beach Resort over Disneyland because of the bunnies!
Adult activities also abound at the White Point Beach Resort. Often called the Pebble Beach of Atlantic Canada, the White Point Golf Club offers spectacular ocean views and a challenging course for all golfing levels. Moms can enjoy a Rainforest Enchantment Body Wrap or participate in a wellness experience with the Chopra Center Health Retreat. Gourmets can experience Chef’s Magic, a mini-cooking class with Chef Alan Crosby or Off the Vine Wine Tastings with Sommelier Dan Tanner.
Although much of Nova Scotia is viewed as a summer-only resort, the White Point Beach Resort is open year-round. Here are just a few of the activities you can enjoy:
- Bonfire on the beach (winter or summer)
- Marshmellow roasts to make s’mores
- Kayaking, canoeing or paddle-boating
- Beach volleyball
- Live Entertainment in the Founder’s Lounge
- Mussel bakes with local mussels
- Mountain biking on nature trails
One of the other unique features of the White Point Beach Resort is the variety of options for families. From 1-3 bedroom oceanfront cottages, to 1-3 bedroom sea-view cottages, to 1-3 bedroom river-view cottages, options are available for every budget and family size. Or for the more luxurious vacation, 2-bedroom housekeeping cottages offer a more private surrounding.
White Point Beach Resort is one of the oldest and most respected resorts in Southern Nova Scotia. First opening in 1928 as a private hunting lodge, it has been in existence for 75 years, achieving the longest average stay and the greatest number of repeat customers of any hotel operator in the province. It’s the kind of place people come back to year after year.

Indeed it has been a wonderful warm spring in Nova Scotia and yes, the bunnies at White Point are ready for a hiopping good time this Easter. We even have a wonderful book called “I spy a bunny” written by a guest and printed by Nimbus Publishing that will be featured over this Holiday.
What makes this upcoming Easter even more exciting is that 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit so we’ll be celebrating our beloved bunnies even more. Several babies have just been born, and are looking forward to meeting many, many more families over the years to come.
